Kara's Version Although it seems we spent 25 years full of near misses, with me growing up in Jacksonville and attending school in Tallahassee and Trey growing up in Tallahassee and attending school in Jacksonville, our paths finally crossed when we lived three doors down from each other in Jacksonville Beach. After a Hoptinger trivia victory, a few drinks at a local dive bar, and one, “I just met the man I am going to marry” text, it seems the rest is history. Since then, we have spent the last three years loving each other through all that our twenties have to offer- being overly involved in raising a dog, new jobs, keeping dance floors alive at weddings, and most importantly trying to keep the “young” in young adults. Trey's Version Our story begins at a little watering hole in Jax Beach called Hoptinger. One Wednesday night, I went to Trivia with a couple of buddies and when I sat down, I was immediately drawn to the woman sitting across from me. She was funny, smart, quick witted, beautiful and equally competitive. At the end of the night (after winning of course), we exchanged numbers and Kara invited me to her "galentines day party. " I'm not sure there is anything as emasculating as being invited to an all girls valentines day party but you gotta do what you gotta do. I walked the one block to her house and the moment I stepped in the door I knew she was the one. We spent the night talking and laughing and haven't spent a day apart since.
